FAQ's

What is repurposed/reworked jewelry?

Our reworked designer pieces are used and/or previously owned that come from authentic designer clothing, shoes, bracelets, bags, zipper pulls, key rings etc. Please note that some may show natural wear as many of these pieces are second-hand vintage. This does not take away from their timeless beauty!

*Disclaimer- Luxia Collection is not directly affiliated with any designer brands (Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc.) We do not claim any rights of the related luxury trademarks. All designer brands are trademarked with their respective designers.

Are your repurposed/reworked designer items limited quantity?

Yes, because these pieces are vintage and reworked, quantity is limited and restocks cannot be guaranteed. We are always looking for new pieces to add to our collection. Depending on what we can source, we may only have one piece of each. This is truly what makes each piece so unique and rare.

Do you handmake your pieces?

All of our reworked designer pieces are handmade with love, and many of our minimalist style pieces are handmade by us as well. Some of our pieces on our site do come to us from carefully sourced reputable wholesalers and vendors that meet our quality standards.

What kind of jewelry materials do you use?

We currently use high quality gold filled, gold plated, gold vermeil, and some 925 sterling silver. Please see our jewelry care tips below on this page for simple tips and tricks to keep your pieces staying beautiful.

What is the difference between gold filled, gold plated, gold vermeil, and 925 sterling silver?

Gold Filled- Composed of a solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal and contains at least 5% gold by weight. We carry at least 14KT or 18KT gold filled jewelry. Gold Filled jewelry is a great alternative to solid gold and this makes it very tough and resilient. This is generally considered safe and hypoallergic for those with sensitive skin.

Gold Plated- Composed of a thin layer of gold onto the surface of metal. Naturally, gold plated jewelry can show wear over time. With great care, your piece can be long lasting. If you are allergic to brass, this may not be the best option for you, and we recommend wearing solid gold. We do have a variety of stainless steel gold plated options and this is generally considered safe and hypoallergenic for those with sensitive skin. We always list the quality of the jewelry piece in the product information section of each piece for this purpose.

Gold Vermeil- Gold Vermeil is a high-quality sterling silver over a thin layer of gold. Vermeil has a thicker gold layer than gold plated jewelry.  This is generally considered safe and hypoallergenic for those with sensitive skin.

925 Sterling Silver- 925 Sterling silver is the jewelry quality standard in the United States and most world markets. It is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. This is generally considered safe for those with sensitive skin. Silver does eventually tarnish due to oxidation, but to keep your pieces looking new it is best to wipe down with a silver polishing cloth after each wear and keep in an air tight bag or jewelry box.
